    Product Details

    Deep ruby red. The nose springs to life with a concentrated perfume of red fruit and morello cherries, followed by a hint of smoked meat and earthy spice. The palate medium in weight, vibrant, refreshing and packed with delicious wild strawberries, bramble fruits, forest floor and soft spice with a long lingering finish. There is a wonderful focus and purity to the wines which is forward in style & perfect for drinking now and over the next 5 years or more. This extraordinarily elegant wine is the perfect way to discover the delights of Gaja's Brunellos.

    Originally, Gaja�۪s Pieve Santa Restituta, part of which abuts the historic vineyards of Gianfranco Soldera, had two major holdings, Rennina�۪s grouping of vineyards and Sugarille, but the estate added 25 very breezy acres in Brunello�۪s northeast subzone in 2005. Deriving from sites in Sugarille, Santo Pietro, Castagno, and Pian dei Cerri, the grapes for this wine ferment for a month in temperature-controlled stainless steel, and the wine ages for a year each in barriques and in botti.
