The Ochagavia estate was the first Chilean winery to grow vineyards with the Bordeaux varieties, It all began in 1851 when a young Silvestre Ochagavia started a revolution in national winemaking by planting the first French varieties in Santiago. With more than 165 years of existence and pioneers of chilean viticulture, Vi̱a Ochagavia creates disctintive and passionate wines for the world to enjoy.
"Espuela" means the spur. The Chilean cowboy's tool used to ride horses and to monitor the Central Valley vineyards, from where these smooth, fruity and easy drinking wines come from.
