Production
Marchese Piero Antinori, known for his role in the Super Tuscan revolution in the 1970s with the development of the iconic Tignanello and Solaia, journeyed to Washington’s Columbia Valley in 1992 at the urging of Andre Tchelistcheff, fellow wine industry legend and at the time, a consultant to Ste. Michelle Estate. During that trip, Antinori discovered an emerging wine region spearheaded by Château Ste. Michelle, the Northwest's oldest and most acclaimed winery. From its inaugural 1995 vintage, Col Solare's mission has been to unite these two unique viticultural and winemaking cultures to produce world-class Cabernet Sauvignon from the very best Washington fruit.
