As the name suggests, the grapes that go into this Malbec are grown right by the sea. As a result, this South African wine benefits from the cooler coastal winds, which bring an elegance to the wines from this region. Silky smooth and unoaked with notes of dark chocolate and plums.
A good chargrilled steak is the obvious food pairing here, for good reason.
Production
The grapes are picked ripe and in the early hours of the morning whilst it's still cool. After careful hand selection, they are pressed and fermented in stainless steel to ensure all the Malbec flavours and vibrant plum colours are extracted. After fermentation, the unoaked components of this blend are kept on their lees, then racked and gently filtered and bottled. This really is a true expression of Coastal Malbec.
