Position Title: Beer and Spirits Buyer
Reports to: Store Manager, Assistant Store Manager & Supervisors.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Responsible for all aspects of the beer and spirits categories in store including: ordering, receiving, product placement, seasonal rotation, cleanliness, inventory management, cycle counting and price tags
  • Ensure all corresponding invoices are counted accurately, and follow up on any discrepancies
  • Makes all buying decisions based on trends, movement and customer feedback while maintaining an unbiased mindset
  • Manage any corporate marketing directives that are related
  • Submit all DOC 60s and similar reports to head office on time
  • Coordinate all defective replacements
  • Maintain a constant presence on the floor when not ordering or receiving. Be a leader in terms of customer service and knowledge
  • Create new relationships with breweries and distilleries and their representatives while maintaining and building upon existing ones
  • Work with store management team to help identify opportunities to expand our customer base and increase store traffic

Qualifications:

  • WSET level 2 in Spirits or applicable liquor industry experience (required)
  • 2-3 years in the customer service or retail industry
  • Serving it Right certificate
